I found this ribbed teak bowl at a vintage shop on the North Fork of Long Island. I hadn’t been hunting for one, but when I saw it I thought it would add an organic touch to the rest of our white tabletop place settings.

Since then, we’ve started to add more wood to our tablescapes – cutting boards, chargers, and wood-handled cutlery have been added to our repertoire, but it all started with this bowl.
