At the time of writing this, I’m currently watching The Crown. The most recent season is a great mash up of historic, heritage British spaces, and the decorated homes of Princess Diana in the 90’s. Maybe I’m having a nostalgic moment, but I keep seeing Anglophile-inspired pieces pop up in my feed.
Or maybe I’ve always been attracted to this style. Take the solid wood shield back chair pulled up in this Texas mudroom. It’s from designer Michael S. Smith’s “Jasper” line. I addedin this traditional shape to stand out against the custom transitional millwork. It feels bold and elevated, familiar and regal…like a piece plucked from a set of Kensington Palace. A seat fit for a princess, if only for a minute to put on your shoes. Check out our round up of shield back chairs, to give your room the royal treatment.
