Picture lights are a great source of indirect light for a room. Of course they light up the artwork of focus, but the reflected light adds a soft and romantic glow to the rest of a space too. I’ve added picture lights to all of our homes in unexpected places, like placing 2 of them to the galley kitchen of our Greenwich Village studio.
Picture lights can be hard wire or plug in, and any with removable bulbs are dimmable (a must have for me.) Make sure you read the details in the selections of our favorites – a hard wired light will require a junction box in an exact location, and a plug in light is best with a recessed clock outlet, which you can put on a dimmer.
The lighting in your room will never look better or more flattering than once you’ve installed one or more of these picture lights. Give them a try!
