Ottomans and pull up stools are useful accessory furniture. From adding color to the underside of an open console, to dotting the foot of a cocktail table, these petite but powerful additions act as functional supplemental seating.

Inspired by the look of this Austin, TX living room, we’ve pulled some of our favorite wood and upholstery ottomans to warm up your space. Most of them cube-like, with a few round exceptions, each would be able to stand on their own or partnered with other furniture. I prefer these guys in pairs, but singles are welcome, and certainly all our preapproved selections are hip.
