Much like denim, I think of leather as a neutral. Even though it comes in all manners of color, texture and sheen, leather seems to be universal in its ability to dress up and add some sex appeal to all styles. Practical with its durability and beautiful with its ability to patina and age, it’s one of those materials that organically blends style with substance.
At Archive, we’re sharing some of our favorite leather finds. Woven pieces like Soho Home’s woven leather ottomans and Zara Home's woven and wood lounge chairs blend maker qualities with polished appeal. Our friends at Lostine and Jayson Home take a more form-fitting approach, by directly gluing the material to seats, chairs, and objects for a second-skin fit. (check out the leather watering cans!) Top-stitched and channeled details define a timeless but updated look of pieces from Anthropologie, Field & Supply, Saint Laurent, and Laviva Home.
I’m a bit of a traditionalist with my leather colors - I love all tones of saddle and camel, but can be won over by oxblood and cordovan and the timeless sexiness of black. No matter the season, it seems it’s always time for leatha weatha - the perfect material to layer onto your style.
