Black pottery seems to make its way into many of my projects. I always say every room needs little black, and often this is a great way to make that addition. Pottery that was once functional is now more decorative, but in some instances is still able to fulfill some of its prior duties.
Our roundup of black vases and vessels, inspired by a prototype I had made for a pottery collection for Ralph Lauren stores, sticks to a matte glaze, and simple jar forms. Through the years I’ve used these shapes in pairs and collections to add dark mass to shelving, and as a solid, weighty vessel for arrangements of heavy branches that glass sometimes can’t properly hold. I’ve even tucked one under a table on the floor, casually displaying its glazed finish. Check out some of our favorites at surprisingly affordable prices below.
